Have a wonderful Monday everyone! At the weekend we celebrated my niece’s wedding, which we have all been looking forward to for a long time. We had a super relaxed day in an incredibly beautiful location, which I made a little nicer with my table decorations. Since you all know how expensive a wedding can be, I made most of the decoration myself and show you my DIY decoration ideas, which are really quick and inexpensive!
With the beautiful rooms in the Marienhof, it was not difficult for me to decorate the table decorations nicely. The old tables and chairs and the sandstone walls looked great in themselves, but of course I wanted to add a personal touch.
I had the drinks cards, place cards and the plugs in the succulents printed
I really like the white writing on the kraft cardboard and it’s a nice alternative to my non-existent hand lettering skills 😉.
In keeping with the autumn wedding, I distributed a lot of dahlias in decorated mason jars, set up brass candlesticks from the flea market and gilded small tealight holders. We made the garland at the last minute and hung the remaining flowers and small printed photos of the bride and groom on it.
Decorating tealight holders with gold leaf is super quick! You need application milk (craft shop), gold leaf flakes (not real gold) and a brush. The application milk is brushed onto the glass, then let it dry for 20 minutes. Then you brush the gold leaf on it. In just one hour you can gold plate around 20 tealight holders.
The displays with a warm greeting for the guests show how happy you are with each and every guest. To do this, I first planted roof root in golden IKEA pots. For the plug I cut out the writing in a circular shape and pasted a small cake tip on both sides with a kebab skewer in between.
I also had the wooden ring disc printed in a print shop (if you have a Dremel at home, you can also brand the writing).
Incidentally, I set up the Love Mail mailbox that I made a while ago and it was a complete success! My daughter delivered 80 little love letters to the guests that she took home as a souvenir!
And something else homemade, but from my sister: she baked the wedding cake with a lot of love. The bark below is homemade too and you could even eat it! Doesn’t it look really real ?!
I hope you enjoyed my DIY decorating ideas! What a shame that everyday life is returning today, I could get used to partying! The next wedding in our family is still a while in coming, but at least I can let off steam with table decorations at Christmas!
Have a great week for you guys!
