Everywhere you can see wall decorations in geometric shapes with wool and brass-colored metal. Well, everywhere is maybe a little bit exaggerated, but if you want something like that, you pay attention to it 😉. Quite often I see decoration and immediately think to myself: oh, you can do that yourself! And really: I had almost everything for the wall decoration in the boho look at home and the part is ready in 20 minutes!
I once made the clay beads myself, of course you can also use wooden beads or something for them. Add a leftover macrame yarn or wool, a curtain ring made of wood and a metal ring (craft shop) and you’re ready to go! If you like the decoration in natural colors, take a look at my boho garland and the color card picture in the bedroom!
- Macrame yarn or wool that can be unraveled – (how can you best call it) – unraveled 🙂
- Beads made of wood or clay
- Metal ring (e.g. from Rayher) (unpaid advertising)
- Curtain ring made of wood (stolen from grandma’s curtain rod or bought)
- Remnant of wool
- possibly wire
How to do it:
First you make the tassel. To do this, take about six strands of macrame yarn of the same length (or a tuft of wool) and wrap all the strands with wool starting from the middle. Wrap as much wool around the yarn that you can form a loop. Take the strands together and wrap wool around both strands to create the shape of the tassel. Now you wind up the individual strands of wool so that the tassel is nice and fluffy.
Connect all parts together, thread beads, fasten the ring in between and the curtain ring on top (either with wool or with wire, depending on the thickness of the bead hole). Of course you can also work in bells, stones, feathers or whatever you like.
I really like such simple projects, because sometimes you feel like doing something creative, but not the leisure to immerse yourself in it all day. The wall decoration will soon be moving into my daughter’s room as we are currently planning a new coat of paint. So far, mother and daughter are completely in agreement 🙂!
