Today it is already a little bit autumnal! The small flower arrangements in the glass are, so to speak, the prototypes for the table decoration for my birthday, which I will celebrate in October (but for the best sake I can’t remember how many birthday it is: P).
I made the arrangements from GLÜCK jam jars and the lettering goes wonderfully with the birthday, I think :). I painted autumnal motifs around the lettering with white edding. Under the motto “Style Your Luck”, you get a free edding gloss paint marker when you buy two glasses of GLÜCK until October 31, 2020! With it you can not only decorate the beautiful glasses, but also write place cards and the menu. You can find more information about the campaign here!
Thanks to plug-in moss, the flowers last for several days, so I can prepare them (little tip: put the glasses in the fridge in the evening, then they’ll stay fresh longer).
DIY flower arrangements in a jar
- empty HAPPINESS jam jars
- Candle holder to insert (if necessary, something self-made from aluminum foil is also possible)
- Gloss paint marker from edding
- round plug moss
- Tapered candle
How to do it:
Paint the glass with the edding and let it dry well.
Place the block of plug moss in a bowl with water until it is soaked.
Cut the moss with the knife so that it fits into the jar.
Before you put the plug-in moss in the jar, you can put a few more leaves from your flowers around the moss, which will look more natural later in the jar.
The candle nozzle is put in the middle …
… and all around the flowers are planted. It is best to place the flowers so close that you can no longer see the moss.
I think such a arrangement would look great with a slightly smaller candle as a decoration on the plate that every guest can take home! Or I put a glass of GLÜCK jam or honey on the plate :). At children’s birthdays, I am always very jealous when my children bring these “free bags” with them – why shouldn’t you prepare a little free gift for adults too?
I’m curious how you like my upcycling table decorations :).
