Oops, Sunday is Mother’s Day! As a small gift idea, I thought of a flower decoration to hang up. With the little flowers I had to improvise and dug up forget-me-nots and roof roots in the garden, luckily I had the rest at home.
The flower decoration also looks good in the garden! If you plant it with succulents such as roof roots, it hardly needs any maintenance and always looks decorative :).
Flower decorations to hang up – this is how it works
Maybe you already have the material for the flower decorations at home. Instead of a wooden ring, you can also use an embroidery frame or shape a ring yourself from thick wire, which you then wrap with twigs. The moss prevents the earth from falling through the wire, so that you can water the flower decorations well.
- A wooden ring, approx. 20 cm in diameter (available from Rayher, for example)
- a piece of rabbit wire (or chicken wire;))
- Cord for hanging
- some earth
Use the pliers to snap off an approx. 12 cm wide strip of wire and attach it to the wooden ring. This is a bit fiddly, but if you have a pair of pliers that you can use to bend the wire well, it works very well. The wire with the square fields looks chic, but is also quite stiff compared to the wire with the honeycomb fields. It is sure to be even faster and easier. Then you attach a second strip of wire to the other side, so that a small pocket is created.
Then line the wire bag with dried moss and plant it.
If you only use the plants on one side, you can also hang the flower decorations on the wall, but I like it best that it floats freely. By the way, instead of fresh flowers, you can also make a flower arrangement with dried flowers and, for example, pink-colored moss, that certainly looks great too!
